Empty (2019)

Combining the experimental spirit of 90s artists such as Gillian Wearing and Sam Taylor-Johnson with Surrealism, Paris Fawcett’s ‘Empty’ see’s the filmmaker intrude on her own unconscious and test whether shooting without an agenda can expose ideals you never knew you had. Entering new territory, Fawcett explores self-portraiture and the challenges that come with shooting yourself, by yourself. The film sports a slow and brooding nature, taking inspiration from Taylor-Johnson’s ‘Still Life’ whilst paying homage to Warhol’s analysis defying ‘sleep’.
